    Further practice adverbs of manner and the modal “ should ’’ .
    Practicing commands , requests and advice in reported speech.
    II /Objective
    By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use adverbs of manner, modal should as an advice, reported speech with commands, requests and advice.

    A. Warm up.( 4’)
    Play a game: Pelmanism

    B. Practice.
    1. Adverbs of manners. ( 5’)
    - Remind Ss the use and the position of adverbs of manners.
    - Ask Ss to do exercise 1 (students’ book - page52).(pair work )
    Correction: Call four pairs to check.
    Answer key :
    a. hard.
    b. fast.
    c. badly.
    d. softly
    - Ask Ss to write the key in their notebooks.
    2. Modal: Should ( 5’)
    - Remind Ss the use of the modal “ should ’’and the form of advice.
    - Elicit Ss from the picture in the students’ book:
    - Look at Mr Hao’s house:
    Is it new or old ?
    How are the doors and the windows?
    Is there a lot of grass in the garden ?
    Is the roof bad or good ?
    Ask Ss to do exercise 2 (students’ book - page 52 ) (individual work)
    Correction: Call some Ss to speak out
    Answer key :
    a. Mr Hao should repair the roof.
    b. Mr Hao should paint the house.
    c. Mr Hao should cut the grass.
    d. Mr Hao should replant the trees.
    e. Mr Hao should mend the doors and the windows.
    3. Advice in reported speech ( 7’)
    - Remind Ss the form of advice in reported speech.
    S + said + sb + should + V.
    - Ask Ss to do exercise 4 ( page 53 - students’ book - sentence a, b, c ).( pair work )
    Correction : call 3 pairs to speak, 3 students to write on the board.
    Answer key :
    Miss Jackson said you should spend more time on Spanish pronunciation.
    Miss Jackson said you should practice speaking English everyday.
    Miss Jackson said you should listen to Spanish conversations on TV.
    4. Commands, requests in reported speech.(10’ )
    - Remind ss the form of commands and requests in reported speech.
    This is Tim’s teacher - Miss Jackson and this is Tim’s mother. They are talking.
